dazbo12 Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 Hi all, any suggestions where I could locate the rear screen wash pipe inside the car,as nothing is coming out of the rear wash... Quote
SPIKEYJIMBO Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 If its a mk 2 open the passengers front door, remove the screws holding in the plastic trim and then gently remove it. The pipe runs along the door and has a connector piece there that usually pops off, If this is the case be prepared for a footwell full of water.. there are much more detailed guides to doing this in the faq section including step by step instructions. Out of interest have you tried cleaning the jet in the rear wiper assembly as it could just be bunged up with muck. Quote
dazbo12 Posted February 24, 2011 Author Report Posted February 24, 2011 It is the mk2 mate il have a look and let you know how I get on, and thanks for the usefull info spikeyjimbo.... Quote
leebob Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 Had to do mine today too, all good now Quote
Galaxy Marc Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Is there a long term solution to this problem as I've had to dismantle my trim twice now to reconnect the tubing. Always seems to pop off post winter frost. It's a pain. Quote
chrispb123456 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 HiA cable tie works for me across the middle of the joint, you could also try super glue, or amalgamation tape. Quote
Brash Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 I've rejointed mine twice and replaced the connectors/pipe that runs from the boot into the car because of a split crap plastic connectors. I'll only use consentrated screen wash now.Its only liquid between -5/-10 degs but will hopefully help. Quote
owlsman Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 I'm going to have to have a look at mine at the weekend. It hasn't worked since I purchased it in 2008.Been looking for a solution - I hope I have now found it :) Quote

Mirez Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 HiA cable tie works for me across the middle of the joint, you could also try super glue, or amalgamation tape. Or, if like me you are paranoid about it happening again, all three :) Quote

Or, if like me you are paranoid about it happening again, all three :) Almost the same here, a small TyRap on each end of the rubber connector, and heavy duty adhesive shrink sleeve over the top. Been good for 6 years now. :) Quote
owlsman Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 I tried yesterday to sort the mystery out.I found the pipe in the door trim - no problem found and water pumped out. Then got to the pipe at the back and removed it from the wiper and it was dribbling out, I have come to the conclusion that there must be a kink in the pipe somewhere, but I've no idea where. Back to square one again. :D Quote
